Earlier this month, Boondocks creator, Aaron Mcgruder announced that there will be a live-action movie starring the beloved and controversial character Uncle Ruckus.
I have friends that don't agree with the character and think that he perpetuates certain stereotypes and further defines fissures in the black community. I think the substance of Uncle Ruckus' character is based in his extreme demeanor and esteem of white people. His disposition is comprised of such a concentrated seething hate for anything non-white, it's almost hard to not laugh at how he's almost sexually aroused when he has the chance to get in a white person's good graces.
Also, the actor who plays Uncle Ruckus, Gary Anthony Williams, is a comical genius who is way under appreciated. He perfected the personification of the character and largely contributed to the success of the show. In this behind the scenes footage (below), Williams' colleagues praise his talent to no end. I haven't read anything on the actual release date of the film or season 4 of the Boondocks animated series, but both are promised in the near future. I'm all like, "hurry the hell up!!"
If you support the UNCLERUCKUS movie, put your money where your mouth is and contribute to the Kickstarter campaign to help fund the project. Peep the teaser video below too!
